Campsie to Bankstown 3rd Track (Passing Loop)

Transport for NSW proposed an additional track on the T3 Bankstown Line to provide faster services for Liverpool and South Western Sydney commuters, but this plan was cancelled in lieu of the Sydenham to Bankstown Metro.

With the Campsie to Bankstown 3rd Track (Passing Loop), a direct Sydney Trains service from Liverpool to Central could be achieved in 37 minutes and Bankstown to Central could be a 22 minute journey.

The Real Upgrade Needed on T3 Bankstown Line

Express Trains to City Circle from Liverpool (and future Western Sydney Airport via Leppington) have been cancelled by the NSW Government for the Sydenham to Bankstown line conversion and Glenfield to Leppington line conversion into Metro

Lost Opportunity for Sydney Trains Network

A 2015 rail plan for extending the T3 Bankstown Line to Leppington and construction of the Campsie to Bankstown third track in preparation for Western Sydney Airport (Sydney Trains Network extension of the South West Rail Link from Leppington) was never implemented

More Trains for South West Sydney

We also support digital signalling upgrades for the entire Sydney Trains Network especially T2 Inner West/Leppington Line, T3 Bankstown Line, T5 Cumberland Line, and T8 Airport/South Line to enable 30 trains per hour instead of converting Sydenham to Bankstown and Glenfield to Leppington into Metro
